Tic-Tac-Poo is good for your garden because in New Zealand,Summer is starting! Many people are planting lots of things (like strawberries) in their garden! In the U.S and in the Northern Hemisphere it is starting Winter! Don't worry you can still improve your soil even over winter to get your garden ready for Summer and to improve your garden so you can plant many things for Summer! This is where Tic-Tac-Poo comes in handy in many ways! Let's see what else Minimomo tells us on Monkey Fact Monday, monkeys!
I am sure that many of you have gardens if you live in a house! If your soil is bad your plants you will need more nutrients for your plants! One way,it that you can put potato peels in your soil! But,don't put any peels of potato that has already been cooked! They won't have any nutrients in them and that is what plants need! Put the peels on top of your garden and spread them out! I recommend doing this sometime close to Winter because the rain will help the nutrients from the potato peel get in the soil!
You can also use manure (Tic-Tac-Poo) from an animal (Sheep, cows,or horses) to help you out. All you have to do is put it in a bag and keep it somewhere for about 3 weeks and after that it will start looking like thick tea! You can mix some of that into the watering can that you use to water your garden,or you can mix it into your garden soil before you start to plant things in Spring!
It is actually better to not to buy compost bins from shops because they create hot and dark environments in the bins and the food scraps attract mice, rats and other animals who could settle in and live there! Not good monkeys! Once nature turns all of your food scraps into compost, you can mix this in with your garden soil. You should never plant things directly into compost because it can be too powerful and hurt your plants because it is too rich!
Thank you so much Minimomo! This really helped me and since Winter is coming I am in luck! ^.^ Are you monkeys going to try it out? Leave me a comment and let us know!
